Re: "I guess the proposition that Oracle should acquire Inprise is going to continue to crop up, but I cannot see it being beneficial to either sets of shareholders, staff or customers, so my bet is still against it."

Del dashed any hopes for anyone buying them, too many sos. He wants to be the sole hero if/when INPR recovers and he is paying an expensive price to get there. Of course that means we share holders are the ones suffering. He is like the alcoholic father who hasn't a clue how much his wife and children are suffering or just chooses to ignore it.

I was starting to have faith that INPR will start to climb but when one looks at how badly Computer Associates is doing with already established products in middle ware hope is all but gone. Still there is a flickering lite of hope in my heart which is all that's required to hang in there.

Oracle desperately needs a solid enterprise tools strategy. But, I doubt the acquisition would take place either. One could only hope.
