TB;

I am saddened to hear of your departure. I hope your decision to leave is accompanied by good heath and happiness.

Your cogent, well-written musings have provided this thread with literary pleasures far greater than you will ever know.

Perhaps one day you will decide to return; if not, may your legend here on the Brinker thread continue to grow, vis-a-vis contributions of the many fine folks that have been a part of this rich heritage, together with revisitations/flashbacks of your infinite wisdom.

You will be missed.

Best Regards,
Don Doney

Dr. Truman Bradley, I too am saddened to hear of your departure. I also hope your decision to leave is accompanied by good heath and happiness. We know that there was a real close call when you left us for a period in the past. I pray that this is not the case this time.

Good luck. May your next endeavor be as successful as this one.

Very respectfully,

Dick Perry

Dr. Bradley,

I shall greatly miss your messages, as I have enjoyed reading them more than any other person's postings on SI. Your presence elevated these Brinker threads above all others, and I cannot imagine what they will be like without you.

I, too, hope this decision was not made for health reasons, or any other negative reasons. I recall that you took advantage of the latest "buying opportunity", as did I, and I trust the negative outcome (thus far) of this was not a factor, either. Whatever your reason, I respect your decision, and wish you the very best in the years ahead.

Ken

Truman...I always looked forward to reading your posts to this thread and others. Your respect for the reader is without equal--even when you disagreed, you did so in a respectful and dignified manner. This is just one reason that this thread has been so successful.

You should know that your writing style inspired me more than once to pick up a dictionary, and for that, I thank you. I know nothing of you except for what has appeared on these pages, but I would bet a fair amount of money that many people find you a brilliant wit, and challenging verbal adversary!

My hearty best wishes to you, my friend.

RE: Truman Leaves

Truman,

Allow me a moment of selfish indulgence to say that I will miss reading your ideas on this thread. Your style and openness are unique and refreshing and will be missed. You may be leaving us, but you will not be forgotten and we can hope that you may be able to return one day.

Best wishes with your other pursuits.

Dear Truman,

When I first joined SI you had just left for some medical reasons. I remember the concern for you expressed by many. I thought that was unusual at the time, but now, having kept your company for several months, I understand. You are a gentleman that will be sorely missed. Thank you for all your posts.

May God continually bless and keep you in grace.

Ever, David Marshall

Dr. Bradley,
I don't know the reasons you are leaving, but your input here has been wonderful. I do hope your health is holding up.
For your information BOB has a thread on his own web site you could post to once in a while if you care to.
May your health and dreams come true in the future.
Regards,
Jerry Goudchaux

Best of luck and health in the restructuring of your life. Your informative posts will be missed here. I will always appreciate the fact that your posts have helped to increase my vocabulary by forcing me to make many trips to the dictionary. Whatever it is you'll be doing, always remember "sesquipidalianism obfuscates pellucidity".

Oh horse feathers! You are a gentleman and a scholar.

Truman, let me join in wishing you all the best in your future ventures. As the originator of this thread, you deserve to be proud of its development and success. It will just not be the same here without your insightful and meaningful comments as we march on to the next 7,000 posts. Unlike other threads, with their self promoters and self servers, this one has consistently provided honest and intelligent information. Now, however, I see some of those same self promoters infesting this thread as they attempt to spread their cynical views and congratulate themselves on their short term "genius." As in the past, they will tire of posting here as their comments will quite rightfully be either laughed at or ignored.
Truman, I know you have now expressed doubts about Bob's model, but one priority he has that we cannot argue with is that all of this is meaningless without our health. With that in mind, I hope this post finds you in good health and that your future interests are as enjoyable for you as your journey to nirvana.....the land of critical mass.
Best personal regards, Jeff Downs

Hi Dr. Bradley,

I didn't have time Saturday morning to give much reply to the circumstance of your departure because of a sister's wedding. I must say that in the 20 months of being at least a lurker on SI, I've never seen one post get 15 replies. Perhaps it will get more still. While it is obvious that you have made a positive impact on so many here, I can't but imagine that you were all along making that same impression on a great many others in whatever your work is aside from play. Needless to say, your presence from my perspective has always been important, beneficial, and useful.

I've had the privilege of making many friends here at SI; two have shined especially brilliant. One was Bo Bob Brain, a regular from the At a Bottom Now for Gold thread. She passed away on St. Valentine's Day from injuries suffered in a November automobile accident. She inspired my weekly humor column there--Pinky's Tailing Box. Her brother has taken her place for now, if it can ever be said that one can take another's place. You have been the other. You can imagine my relief when Bo returned several weeks after surviving the accident to post again and then a week or two later you returned yourself from a lengthy absence.

While you will be missed entirely at this juncture, I take great comfort in trusting that the muses that beckon you will lead you on to the substantial task of helping shape the souls of still others along the path that God has given you.

(Just an aside, did I ever tell you that I was the one who faxed from the Bank of Edgar the idea for the Clintons "Flintstones" song to Rush Limbaugh four months before he started playing his lyrical version on his show? Thought you might get a kick out of that.)

I'm not one to broadcast otiose aggrandizements. (Did I get you on "otiose"? =) (Like many here, you've helped make a dictionary my Teddy Bear and broadened the horizon of my vocabulary.) But in this case I regret not a word I say.

What I do regret is that Truman's last class has ended here.

--Allan Gust

Truman,

Sorry for this late response - was away from the computer all weekend.

For a gentlemen & a scholar such as yourself, this quote comes to mind:

"May you continue to grow in age, wisdom and grace before God and man.."

Both you - and your sage advice - will be missed. God speed.
