Actually, this movie has quite a few wonderful things to say about Jesus. It's "god" the film takes to task.

What's the matter? Is your god so weak that you are afraid to confront "his" basic flaw?

PS, Emile. Another movie you might like is The Last Temptation of Christ directed by Martin Scorcese from the novel by Nikos Kazantzakis. Like Jesis Christ Superstar, many people assumed that it was anti-Jesus. But it is an extremely reverent portrayal of the agony Jesus went through in accepting and understanding his ministry on earth. Very moving. The only thing I didn't really like about it was the depiction of Mary Magdalene who was not a prostitute (that idea didn't come in until the middle ages).

Anyway, you might like that movie. And I think you might like The Rapture too, if you give it a chance. At any rate, I'd be interested in your ideas about them if you do take a look.
