Jean - Re: "Nokia & that other company that the name escpaes me right
now [othe rmarket leade in europe] will not make Qualcomm vulnerable i.e economies of scale for Nokia etc."

That is entirely possible - but Qualcomm is sticking to CDMA and Nokia is spread out between GSM and many other formats, besides a little CDMA.

(In fact, I found a Nokia CDMA cell phone on the road about a year ago - with the Qualcomm CDMA license emblazened on the back.)

Qualcomm has a very sharp focus on CDMA, expanding it and delivering it. In nearly every technological test, CDMA has proven to be superior to TDMA-type wireless for quality and channel density.

As Globalstar nears deployment in another year, Qualcomm and CDMA will be able to expand across the world for wireless local loop with very little dependency on having to install local base stations in any country. This will facilitate their growth.
