Christopher, I'm surprised that your broker is taking so long to establish a margin acct. for you. I use Waterhouse and can't complain about their service, although it seems to me they have difficulty in filling short orders. They're not very good at finding shares available to borrow. Ditchdigger is very pleased with his brokerage house. Perhaps he can offer some suggestions. The opportunity to short the market and individual stocks is still there. The volatility that we've been experiencing demonstrates market nervousness and that we're not done testing for a market bottom.
