South America doesn't look at its healthiest right now. Both Brazil and Argentina were done yesterday, even with the DOW and the NASDAQ's brilliant comeback. Expect another down day for most South American markets today.

Let's hope people soon realize that these are good economies and there markets are being oversold. The trouble is such lack of faith in these economies can end up posing a real problem to those economies themselves.

Certainly, if Alan Greenspan ever get over his inflationphobia and comes to his senses and cuts rates, then this will help Asia, Russia and South America. Let's hope he doesn't wait too much longer.

The Brazilian index is almost down to 500 today -- a decline of over 11% for just the morning. For the most part this is being ignored by the media, but this is something that needs to be of concern to the US markets.

It is time for Greenspan to step in and lower rates, for the sake of Latin America.
