Mexico is in the same ocean, if not the same boat. Banks have now stopped lending. Last rate on a car was 41%!
As I have been saying, if this is a world economy, how can we stay immune?
Just look at the jobs report, down a few 100 thousand in the important area, manufacturing, even with the GM workers back.
But, those high paying McDonald's jobs just keep growing!
And, dear Mr. Greenspan, the market has already lowered rates. You may be just the cart now. Of course, the psychological aspect will be a good trading move for us.

The US will not allow them to base on gold. We have effectively blackmailed the world by making them base on US dollar or we yank funding.

The same thing happened with oil-- used to be tied to gold. Now it is the bankrupt US dollar.

Gold will come, but it will go lower again.

If any country had the BALLS to back with Gold-- they would become the world currency.

I am making a bet China might give it a whirl at some point.

The one thing that scares me-- and the reason I will keep physical bullion in Switzerland-- is that the US will make it illegal for US citizens to own gold-- like they did in the 30's.

Gold was only legal for US cit. in the 70's-- when US went off gold standard.

Is the picture getting clearer?
