Think of it as the prose equivalent of haiku. Not that I'm an expert, as that's the first (and probably last) time I've tried it. Just saw the thread, and had to have a whack at it.

I prefer essay tests to multiple choice. When I get a multiple choice test, I have to write little qualifiers next to the choice I selected. Now that they give you bubble sheets apart from the test protocol, I get even more frustrated.
