Good luck, this has some short-term possibilities. As a long-term hold, I am wary.

There are a couple of small high-techs that I like, but they are not public :(

I have posted links to Carl Nelson's website

a few times before. This is a good place to start in finding small high-tech companies that are in the SBIR game. The advantage of looking at SBIR companies is that they are audited by the Government yearly and have passed the 1:10 or 1:20 selection criteria for technology desirability.

The drawback is that most of these companies are not public and you may have to watch them for a long time before you can invest. However, some are public, ATMI and CREE are notable examples which although currently battered, have had some spectacular rises.
