<--assess the current threat to Ciena from companies --> Ciena is a cool company and they do good stuff. Besides, they were the first and even LU struggles to get even. There are a lot of wanna-bees and they are coming on strong. You mention Pirelli, NT, Alcatel etc. In this game, high-tech, you have to be nimble, quick, and bright, and have the right business plan and help. CIEN is lean and has all the other attributes. The others can't move as fast because they are HUGE companies. I feel LU+ATT threw a monkey wrench into CIEN+TLAB, and yes, those others are gaining. In this game, you look over your shoulders a lot. I say, lets get on with the CIEN+TLAB thing and let these folks kick butt. (I work for neither one, but am a shareholder in both)
