That's probably a diskbuff or no-CD-in-the-drive problem, bdog.
Would happen if
-qp doesn't know or forgot where your diskbuff is.
-you don't have a diskbuff and the CD's not in the drive [it has to be in the drive when you start qp_disp].

I had the 4/1/98 problem on some stocks, not all. Deleting and reinstalling the Diskbuff took care of it. I have no idea what caused the problem though.
