Excellent post. You made some great points.

The vision of Intel (one billion connected computers) to my mind is really what drives Intel

I'd add that the ever decreasing size of those millions of transistors has an awful lot to do with it too.

If Intel takes care of product progress, the margins will take care of themselves.

It appears to me to be exactly what they are doing.

Intel has to grow faster than value of PC market grows. Intel has to get into new markets or improve the PC market and keep or grow its share of this richer market.
