Kash,

The prices of semiconductors always goes down on existing products. The way that LSI and VLSI are trying to increase margins is by producing systems on a chip. Not only do these chips promise higher margins, but LSI and VLSI can take market share away from other companies that had provided functions that will be included on these chips. The demand for systems on a chip should rise because they reduce the size and power requirements for products. I think that the success of both VLSI and LSI going forward is dependent on the success of this technology and both companies are well positioned in this area.
