Folks, I got ANOTHER letter from my Paine Webber broker. He reminded me of the glowing report written by one of their top analysts who said "hang in there" and that the market is in EXCELLENT shape (2 weeks ago). He also STRONGLY suggested that I (this was a form letter, BTW) make an appointment with him as SOON as possible to discuss my portfolio.

Discuss my portfolio? The big brokerage houses are starting to worry folks.

What effect will a 1/2 point Fed rate cut have on the market? Opinions anyone???

My guess: Rate cut will cause a 500 point DOW bounce but not enough to prevent the full-market October '98 meltdown as investors realize the Fed alone will not cure the global economic crisis. The meltdown will take the DOW to between 6200 & 6500.
