A market about to loose its mascot, Bubba the Goat When the dust settles, after the coming international panic, the American people will wake up to realise that the SEC is about as capable of policing securities markets as the Russian revenue ministry is of collecting taxes. All the fine points of equity culture quibbled and cavilled on CNBC will at last add up, but not in stockholders' favour. In more and more stocks, the one-teenie spread will begin to look like pure evil.
