Christine, I really don't know much about global warming, and will be unable to provide content, but based on general observations of the process, I expect that the argument will continue to get hotter. Liberals and conservatives will affirm, deny, and sling insults. The hotter the argument gets, the more grant money will become available for actual study of the issue. As the studies take place understanding will emerge gradually, and practically-minded people will set to figuring out what to do about it. The people slinging the insults will probably not even be aware of the process until it's done, but without the argument it would never happen. So have at it!
