Beeb, I have played puts on the OEX in the past, but as a general rule, I avoid it. I usually feel that even in the most overpriced market, many names and some sectors are more overvalued than others and some are undervalued. I'd rather seek out the more overpriced instead of taking the broad brush.

I believe it is too late to jump on the Latin stocks, just as it may be too late to start with the banks. Most are near 52 week lows and any bit of positive news will cause them to jump. Then, you buy the puts. The Teles, with competition coming in, are especially vulnerable.
