To Everyone: Islamic Gold standard? Late last night, too late apparently, I ran across one post on a mining stock thread, I can't remember which one, in which the poster claimed that islamic nations were going to try to go on the gold standard starting with malaysia. Have any of you heard anything like this before. I suspect this is a weird rumor, but if it's true...?! Also, when I was in europe this June I read and heard comments about the Euro being half gold backed. Can anyone explain the relationship of gold to the new currency, or is there none? Sorry if I'm asking you to give info you've previously discussed...Lawrence.
