First of all..really happy that you have become an active contributer!
At least some good can come out of @#%@
I for one would welcome more people to come to this thread who would give explicit reasons why "this time" will be different and back up their comments with relevent comments..and who explain why the meltdown and depression in Asia shows a healthy monetary policy etc
and why the geopolitics of the world seem to be changing rapidly with realigning of alliances..(gee I don't have the foggiest where India stands in relation to the west ..(they do have their fair share of computer people besides their projecting to dominate the world in population by year 2050..))
Unlike television or conversations in person..one can easily tune out
bs by just skipping over posts.. I guess you have a lot more tolerance than I do :-)
by the way..has anybody tracked the small caps and gold stocks..do they usually run together? do we need to see small caps start moving before we can assume the bottom of gold is in If they do is it because small caps usually run when inflation is on the return? How much longer can the farmers sell their products at less than then cost? (even though there are a lot of starving people out there)
just trying to fit all the pieces together..this is a strong seasonal period for gold..
It is will be interesting when the "big boys and girls" return from the summer holidays..
biz.yahoo.com ..different set of problems being created in Korea for down the road?
I guess if I were diligent..I would start watching defense(not defensive) stocks
