Craig, I guess when we talk about leaders of industries it really is too broad a term. I believe in industry, just like in individual people and governments, there are good people who care and people who don't. The proportions to me are about the same. Too often people see government regulations as only a win situation. Many times it's those very regulations which add or cause the environmental damage to begin with. The cause and effect relationship on environmental policy decisions is a very tricky issue. One we should not take lightly when we believe in a solution.

The fishing issue is a difficult problem. Certainly here in the Puget Sound it's very controversial. Some believe we should just have a complete ban for a few years until stockpiles recover. My personal thoughts are that we need to come to a mutual agreement with Canada and the fishing industry on what fishing harvests are necessary and sustainable. It sure doesn't make me feel proud to see literally hundreds of fishing boats. (many from foreign countries) dredging their nets in the opening to the straights of Juan De Fuca. Win, Win solutions are possible if people are willing to drop the Greenpeace environmental extremism and talk rationally. Unfortunately, too many people want only a lose win, or win lose outcome.

By the way, a good friend of mine just caught a 160lb Halibut! Wow, was that a huge fish! I'm still eating chunks he brings us. :-)
