Matt,

I don't watch TV (I'd get too distracted if I did), but
thanks for telling me about the Nasdaq commercial which
included 3Com. I think these kinds of details are extremely
important. In the last 2 weeks (probably to coincide with
end of preannouncement), I've seen a barrage of 3Com ads
in WSJ (I read the paper edition), and also the Business
Week magazine. Their advertisements are more forceful
and positive (imo). Also, they seem to be doing more net
advertising on the online network magazines...more forceful
about pushing their next generation equipment.

3Com also has budgeted a lot of money for advertising
in general.

This month, the V.90 standard gets ratified by the standards
board. Hopefully, the press will play this up to the hilt,
even though it's old news. I'm sure that there are a lot
of ISPs and modem buyers waiting for this point in time to
make sure V.90 is here to stay. I'll be looking to see how
much of a positive this will be this month.

I didn't think this next week would be too hot with the market,
but now it seems that Chairman Greenspan has blinked about
interest rates. If so, this could start some buying sessions
in the market. I hope so. I don't like COMS getting near
its 52-week low and starting some sh*tty new trend. So, I
will definitely be looking to see how the market takes
Greenspan's comments. Plus, the big spenders get back in from
holidays in the next few weeks, and I'm hoping they start
seeing bargains. If not, we are in for tough times.
