Yamaha CD-R for $199

The magical price point of $199 has been realized for CD-R. With prices plunging the way they are, early next year will probably see the $99 price point, and OEM inclusion in a large percentage of computers. And then in the year 2000, CD-R/W drives could be accepted as the new Standard in place of floppies AND CD-Roms.

The convergence is being accomplished with CD-R/W. Iomega is doomed.
