Mark Hulbert has a piece in the voices section of the NY Times Biz section today titled "More Proof for the Dow Theory" in which he speaks very well for the performance of Russell's Dow Theory Letter during down markets. In the next to the last paragraph Russel is quoted as saying "4,960 or lower". Hulpert uses the concluding paragraph not to dispute the statement, but rather to contrast Russel's decades of experience experience to that of our barely toilet trained fund managers.
