My door bell used to play "In my Room."

Scary.

yes, Brian is a space cadet. One friend of mine used to go out with I think it was Mike Love. So one day I am this party with a bunch of honcho squares and the prexy of this corp tells me "Have you every heard of the Beach boys? seems like my daughter's boyfriend just called her from Japan and he is playing with that group there. He must have more money than brains."

I told him you would be lucky if your corporation had as much money as the beach boys. He had no clue.

They were the best musicians compositionally in the pop world. I don't think the Beatles were in the same class at all. Performance wise I think the Doors had a wide edge and Zappa picked the best of the best to play with him on stage. I would still crawl a mile on broken glass to hear Paul Butterfield play though. there were a lot of good musicians out of the sixties. I am waiting for some people to try it again.
