Nancy,

<< we question because God gave us a mind and the free will to question Him.>>

I think it's important to distinguish between questioning God and questioning religion. They are two very different things.

It could be argued that religion exists because we question God. We create many religions because many different people, in many corners of the world, have asked the same questions. Despite different forms and rituals, the answers they have come up with are remarkably similar.

I believe that all religions contain a core of truth, and also the potential for evil. I believe the devout Jew, the devout Moslem, the devout Buddhist, the devout Christian, etc., will all find favor in the eyes of God. And I believe that any member of any religion who uses religion as an excuse to hate and oppress commits the gravest of all possible sins.

Being a devout pagan, I have little use for scriptures, priests, rabbis, monks, or hierarchies of any kind, but that must be my poorly suppressed anarchist/libertarian tendencies sneaking out.
