Yes, but you called last year's mini-plunge a crash as well. For me a crash requires a much bigger drop AND panic selling, which we did not see last week (though we definitely had some of it last year). DAX started to fall rapidly in the last few minutes. Any news from Russia? Or a technical break-down of the rally?

Flickerful: when was the report on the drop in Japan's corporate profit published? After trading?

Also: I don't think that there will be good news from Russia today. Combined with the bad Japanese earnings that should even the odds for tomorrow. However, one should not overrate any failure of forming a new government in Russia today or any of the extreme public statements one is likely to hear after a failure. All of that is mainly posturing for the next and critical round of negotiations (based on previous patterns). And these are likely to lead to the formation of a new government. Not that its policies are likely to be positive (expect hyper-inflation within a few months, if not weeks).
