Hi Bobby, two comments 1) if Malaysia uses this as an opportunity to reform its economy and removes controls quickly it will have been a wise move. If they just use it as a mechanism to protect local industry the economy will never heal and will in fact underperform. I'm not crazy about currency controls but if they act wisely it should work out. 2) Krugman is covering his tracks. He tells these guys to impose currency controls and doesn't make any qualifications. Now that one of them goes ahead and does it he has some other requirements for it to succeed. Sounds like he is giving himself an out. Henry
