What this means is that cash pending investment in our account in excess of $100k is not insured.

Wow. I need to double-check that before opening my own account. If true, I'd be inclined to limit the balance held in an MBT account to $100K.

I think I remember correctly that most brokerage insurance has that $100,000 limitation on cash.

Isn't that a SIPC standard?
