I thought I would post a HOW TO on getting to the news server for ALL Creative readers. If your using netscape news reader its basicly the same idea but I can post a how to for that as well if need be. Hope this helps... I KNOW Microsloft has little help in its help files. Anyone ever find any help in a MS help file??? _________________________________ Outlook Express News Setup After opening Outlook Express, go to Tools, Accounts. This will bring up an Internet Accounts window. Click the Add button, and then click News. A new setup window will appear. Enter the following information: Display Name: (whatever name(s) you want to appear on outgoing mail) Click Next. Email Address: NOSPAMusername@XXX.com (DON'T USE YOUR REAL email address as you WILL be spamed! Place a NOSPAM before your real address. So people can send mail to you but spaming will not work) Click Next. News (NNTP) Server: news.soundblaster.com DO NOT check the box: My news server requires me to log on Click Next. Internet News Account Name: (any descriptive name you would like) Click Next. Select the option: 'Connect using my phone line' Click Next. Select the option: 'Use an existing dial-up connection' Click on Soundblaster.com in the connection list Click Next, Finish. You should be back to the Internet Accounts window. Click on the News tab. Highlight the account you just created and click the Default button. Click Close and you should be back to the Outlook Express window. Brian, I dont remember them saying inventories will increase. I'll take your word for it, besides it just makes sense(with all the new product releases) Sb live is for sale @ buycomp for ~$130. Very low in my opinion. I started wondering how the price is set. Was the price reduced,or.. 1. At the start of a product release( new very high margin product), you split more of the products profits with the retailer. To help promote demand and support by the retail front you offer it at a low price, as you reduce the suggested retail price over time it actually depletes the retailers profit not yours. This would help establish demand initially, and stable margins. 2. Creative labs cut the price for whatever reason. at 130 buycomp would have to make at least $10 I would think. $20 for the middle man, 100 for creative. These are wild numbers please someone help if possible. If Creative is suggesting a gross margin say in the high 50's, what price is that based on. Mike
