Greenspan is known to be adament on curbing any type of inflationary pressure. When he acknowledged there is equal deflation/inflation pressures, he is now more likely to reduce rate or keep it the same. Greenspan already expected the Asian fallout to arrive here, sooner or later, and he kept the rate unchanged in the last two months, despite some Fed members who wanted to raise the rate. Now, the possibility of raising the rate is very unlikely and the pressure to lower rate is mounting. Nevertheless, this expectation is good way to stabilize the stock market, and allow it to go down or up slowly. Watch the bond and the currency market. Both will have impact on how soon the Feds will make a move.

No you are not missing nothing, it is all "Bull frustraded wishes".

I am surprised like you. In fact he warned that the US economy and markets are going to feel the pain of the Global situation, and all over the tapes and wires and reports of todays news seem to be no body who got that from AG.
So it is another sign that the Bulls are getting desperated and they are trying to get and TRANSFORM for their conveneince any possible Bull point.
I am not so confident about a rate cut, i think market will move lower after the initial pop up. today the Globex could not pass the 1000 limit.
Lets see.
take care.

Evidently, you're not the only one questioning such talk...
