Thean and all:

It looks like we will have a tremendous rally at the open tomorrow - Globex trading is up in the stratosphere:

Apparently, most traders are interpreting AG's speech as there will be a decrease in rates, or at the very least, the FOMC is now leaning toward easing. A view through bull-colored glasses, I'm sure. I didn't get this impression by reading the speech, but that really doesn't matter, because clearly I'm in the minority. But that's OK, because a market is to trade, not to draw a line in the sand. Long term, I think we go down, not as hard or as far as LT projects, but perhaps to the 6500-6900 range. (Note that gold is skyrocketing as the US$ weakens and oil is moribund.)

Anyway, as to tomorrow. Well, a train is coming so it's best not to stand in front of it - "befriend the trend": Subject 21685.

Clearly, on this interpretation of AG, the beaten down banks will see a pop - for a day or two. I will probably long BT, JPM or CCI if they don't gap too much. I am also looking at some S & L's, MAFB and IWBK as possibilities. These will be clearly short term trades.

Here are a few others I am looking into. My criteria include TA and FA; particularly moving up in a weak market and having a record of solid earnings.

SNTC - on 9/1 hit 52 week low, but broke downtrend on 9/4 with price up on 3X ave. volume. Positive earnings surprises last 5 qtrs. And estimated growth well above industry average. In the chemical industry, so weaker US$ will help. Earnings recently revised upward.

SUT - broke thru resistance at about 42. Clear sailing up. 5 qtr. of positive earnings surprises like SNTC. Qtr 10/99 earnings upgraded. 3SB, 1B analyst ratings.

NEON - 9/3 broke above 50D MA, more up 9/4 on strong volume. High relative strength, but clearly not overbought. Earnings surprises of 100% last three quarters! Earnings growth of 80% for FY99; 53% growth estimated for next 5 years. On the downside, a fair amount of insider selling in May.

HEB - this is a small cap play with associated risks. 9/4 hit 52 week high on break thru congestion on big volume. Insider buying in July.

I will probably buy DELL just for the ride - it is one of the Four Horsemen in this market. If AMZN goes up, I will short. For that matter, I will short it if it goes down!

Do your own due diligence, better yet give me some feedback! Good luck tomorrow.
