Not to mention to save the multinational banks by approving IMF fundings - the 18 billions really a drop in the bucket versus the over trillions exposure banks have in derivatives markets - but the calming effect is there.

nonetheless, the floor has temporarily put in and it will take away some pressure and buy some time to allow the world economies to heal.
Doesn't mean we would zoom back to a bullish mode but the gloomy picture many have predicted probably wont happen because of government intervention.
