They are slower w/ market orders because they try to get you the
best price.

That may explain how I got hosed on an AMZN market order... They didn't have time to deal with the order. I traded "at market" to get out fast (I thought); had I put in a limit order, the market itself would have taken me out fast.

Overall, I've been happy with Dreyfus. Their Option info is good. They also pay $75/month toward my Real-Time quotes via DBC StockEdge Online if I do 5 trades/month.

Jeff,

When I trade with Fidelity Spartan, I'm doing so on the phone with a trader. He/she is reporting to me as soon as the trade fills. If I pick a stock in which Fido doesn't make a market, the fill can be slow. I've just learned not to trade those stocks.

As to stocks in which Fido makes a market, or has a relationship with a MM (e.g. Knight Securities), the fill is extremely fast, and I can then go on from there. Last week, for example, I often was in/out INTC at the same price and within seconds, a good sign that I'm getting rapid information.

Best,
Gary Korn
