Arakis announcement/Talisman (Full text of press release from Canadian Corporate News) SEPTEMBER 9, 1998 Arakis Mails Information Circular Relating to Arakis/Talisman Arrangement CALGARY, ALBERTA--Arakis Energy Corporation (NASDAQ: AKSEF) announced today that its Management Information Circular and related proxy materials have been forwarded to shareholders in connection with the special meeting of securityholders scheduled for October 7, 1998. The special meeting has been called to approve the arrangement involving Arakis, its securityholders, Talisman Energy Inc. and 796077 Alberta Ltd. whereby the shareholders of Arakis will exchange their shares of Arakis for shares of Talisman on the basis of ten Arakis shares for each one Talisman share.
