Pete,re:Then all these ugly seamy matters would be put to rest quickly and the nation could get on with important substantive issues and start restoring respect for the office of the presidency at home and abroad. Would that be the best of all possible outcomes in this situation ? Maybe or perhaps Gore will have his own Independent Counselor for campaign abuses by the time he would take over and then the whole world may reasonably sell all US holdings when they realize the US has gone mad and is incapable of governing itself as they watch secret service members now given the task of presidential spies testifying as to exactly which phone Gore was calling from at various times. Oops, I'm getting dangerously close to breaking the rules. No response required or desired
