I loved the JIT discussion, but ... we need something more
authoritative about Intel's pricing especially wrt to CPQ and DELL. Intel is a de facto monopoly, and is constantly subjected to lawsuits or threats of lawsuits by customers who think they have been discriminated against wrt price or delivery. There is still a statute against price discrimination (Wright-Patman) as well as Sec. 2 of Sherman, and Intel cannot prefer one customer or give special discounts except those demonstrably justified by economies of size of purchase. I wonder if Intel skates very far from equal treatment, especially with those lawyers poking around the files.
