$17.50 is great.The normal for phone is $25/1000 I have been told.Never used it. You do know that shorts are free?

Gary, I don't follow FIDO commissions very closely because I do not use it for daytrading anymore. The few times I've called in to live broker was because I had problems trading with them via Fox software or the internet, in which case I believe they give you the $14.95 rate anyway. Their brokers seem nice and efficient (way more than Datek reps - don't ever go there), but sometimes it takes me quite a while to get through to them on the phone and lots of time waiting for confirmation. I just can't see using FIDO for daytrading anymore, especially with much better brokers being so readily available now. Bill
