>>Does anyone have any recommendation as to which video board I should get for the second monitor? The computer is a Dell Dimension XPS, and the second monitor is an NEC MujltiSync 5FGe. My present monitor on this system is a Dell 21 inch. Does it matter if both monitors are not the same type or size, anything like that? <<

Here is a reference to an updated list of video chips that are compatible with using multiple monitors with Windows 98.

You can use any video adapter that uses a chip from the compatible
list for a second monitor. Assuming your present video adapter uses the AGP, advance graphics port, connector in your computer make sure the second video adapter you buy is a PCI video adapter.

With Windows 98 the multiple monitors do not have to be the same make, size or resolution.
