Emile,

I learned my pagan ways from a tribe in a remote mountain section of Northern Luzon. They were the first people I've seen in many years whose religiosity had a real, visceral impact on me. I do not practice their religion, as it would be absurd for one of my culture to try. But their attitudes had a very real impact. I really think you ought to learn a bit more about them before denouncing them as dirty. I would say that any one of them is worth a dozen or so of you.

<<It didn't work very well on you, did it? >>

She drew me to it. People like you drove me away from it.

<<They despised those early Christians so much that they murder many.>>

A favor which the Christians returned as soon as they had the capacity to do so.

<<And then we can move to American in l998 and read the reactions of the pagans and nonchristians on SI. Things haven't changed much in 2000 years.>>

I haven't noticed us burning anybody lately. On the whole I would have to say the nonchristians are rather more civilized than the Christians, a phenomenon which hardly surprises me.

<<Sounds like I am in the same company as the Apostles and disciples who were viewed with horror, shock and shame by the Jewish authorities and the Jewish mobs in the first century.>>

You miss the point. It's not the pagans and the Jews that view you with horror, shock, and above all shame. It is the Christians who realize that your palpable hatred (please don't deny it, it radiates from every word you write) and extremism are an insult to Christ. Don't worry, though, they won't burn you. They respect your rights too much to even try to silence you. Would you grant them the same courtesy, if you had the choice?

Still waiting for an answer to Craig's question. I also asked one a while back, aimed at Chris. He couldn't cope, perhaps you can. This was the question:

In the recent floods in China, many children and infants died. They were not Christians. Will your God condemn them to eternal damnation for the crime of not worshipping him?

A reply, please.

Steve

Without Christ their is no door to God

It's a good thing the Buddha teaches us how to get through the window <g>

Sounds like I am in the same company as the Apostles and disciples who were viewed with horror, shock and shame by the Jewish authorities and the Jewish mobs in the first century. They despised those early Christians so much that they murder many.

Now I think I finally understand where you're coming from, Emile. You think it's an honor to be viewed with horror, shock and shame by Jews, because that puts you in the same class as the early Christians. Are you concious of this martyr complex you have? Do you think Jesus went around trying to piss people off so he could feel good about himself?
