<Does anyone have hard evidence that elevators and defibrillators care what year it is?>

SWEETIE ... I do.

PACEMAKERS & IMPLANTABLE DEFIBRILLATORS:
"Medtronic is the largest company here. Have potential problems, not in their proper working, but in the interface with the machinery that interrogates them regarding proper functioning and when they may have discharged. It is suspected that some of these devices corrupt the analyzers, thus rendering them non-interpretable or on functioning. The pacemaker keeps working but we have no way of telling whether they are working PROPERLY."

DIFIBRILLATORS: LIFEPAK
"Lifepak, the defibrillators that are used in hospitals and ambulances to shock a patient in cardiac arrest are non-compliant from any Lifepak 5 or earlier."

I know, and you know ... that you're trying to make light of the problem cause you're shorting TAVA.

Want more specific info? LOL Get my "Y2K Medical Device" report. Pfizer U.K. asked for a copy. So did Kaiser Permanente. Many others. They're more concerned than you. Thank G*d!

<Charles please think before you post such.>

YOU think first before you post. I have something to rebut everything you discounted. Just don't have time nor inclination to post. Try a new tactic.

Cheryl

ALL "LONGS": In spite of of the most recent posts about what a great time this is to buy TAVA ... I wouldn't ... Unless you're planning on a quick sell. If you're on a fixed income or are thinking of dipping into margin to recover losses ... DON'T. Leave it to the traders. Market's too volatile. There's a lotta "game playing" going on right now ... at both ends.

mchip --- there are millions of things that do not care or need to process the year that have chips that for whatever reason require them to do just that. Was there a reason for all those chips-- were there cost factors--- why would a VCR care what year it is--- but I suggest many will fail a test even though may work the same 1/1/00. My 3 will be unplugged--- same with microwave ovens..... these are just a couple items those looking at the problem are aware of but not concerned with --- most will be fine or thrown out and replaced.
