I think the colour printer cartridge had dried up and the disk crashed and just after that the dog bolted in and barfed on my sole remaining proofs should do it. A polite inquiry as to would he like to come over and help with the registry files should get you another week. At the end of the week you call him up and inquire at 1:15 am as to whether he had ever heard of a personal computer electrocuting a flock of pigeons and what would get pigeon guts off vellum. Then one month later call him over to look at the mysterious monitor shaped hole in the wall. You don't have to tell him how it got there. Just let him surmise it. EC<:-}
