Why do the naysayers (not meaning you here) always want to create the strawman position that if one is concerned about y2k impacts that it means they are expecting doomsday scenarios? Maybe it does, maybe not.

The more important point seems to be that just a series of glitches over a period of time in a variety of areas can place the most vulnerable in our society in unnecessary risk, uncertainty and danger.

Why should we find that acceptable if we have not done all we can to mitigate the potential exposure?

It bugs the heck out of me to have all these posters-come-lately showup and carry on as if putting segments of our population in jeporardy is just fine and dandy.

We need to be sure systems will work, not just assume it until failure proves otherwise.
