Any comments on the potential of this project would be appreciated. Thanks, Crane. Freewest Resources Canada Inc FWR Shares issued 21,263,447 1998-09-08 close $0.3Wednesday Sep 9 1998 Mr. Mackenzie Watson reports Freewest has received the results of a recent stripping, blasting and sampling program carried out on its 100 per cent owned Folson Lake PGE-Cu-Ni property in Gerow Township approximately 80km west of Sudbury, Ontario. The 20 claim (320 hectare) property covers part of the East Bull Lake Intrusion. This intrusion, which is 20km long, up to 4km wide and at least 800m thick has been interpreted to be a lopolith with inward dipping, differentiated magmatic zones generally striking parallel to the margins of the intrusion. The EBLI was the subject of a four year geology, mineral potential, and petrogenesis study conducted by Laurentian University from 1990 to 1994 with grants from the university and the governments of Ontario and Canada. The study identified a laterally continuous "... zone of platinum group elements (PGE) and associated copper+nickel (Cu+Ni) mineralization in the basal portion of the EBLI ..." (Peck et al, 1991) and concluded that the greatest abundance of magmatic sulphides "...occur in a variety of gabbroic rocks types that form the matrix of the inclusion-bearing zone..." (Peck et al 1995). The claims were staked over a section of the zone where a "... value of 1,010 ppb combined platinum, palladium and gold ..." was obtained (Byron et al, 1994). The stripping, blasting and sampling program was done to follow up sample results of 3.2 g/t palladium, 1.4 g/t platinum, 3.4 g/t silver and 0.2 g/t gold obtained from a grab sample collected when the claims were being staked. The program tested the inclusion bearing zone over a width of 15m and a strike length of 25m. A total of 37 grab and chip samples was collected from three blast trenches and analyzed by Swastika Laboratories in Kirkland Lake, Ontario by fire assay and atomic absorption techniques. The samples all returned anomalous platinum and palladium values (i.e. greater than 50 ppb). Eighteen of the samples are characterized by combined palladium-platinum values in excess of 1.0 g/t and a palladium to platinum ratio of approximately 2:1. They also contain anomalous silver, gold, copper and nickel. The best sample returned 6.6 g/t palladium, 2.8 g/t platinum, 8.3 g/t silver, 0.3 g/t gold, 1.79 per cent copper and 0.66 per cent nickel. The showing remains open in all directions and government mapping (Peck et al, 1995) indicates that property covers a 2km section of the favorable inclusion bearing zone. This new find emphasizes the PGE-Cu-Ni potential of the East Bull Lake intrusion which has been demonstrated by both industry and government workers in the past and most recently by Mustang Gold. Freewest will continue exploration shortly with linecutting, mapping, magnetic and induced polarization surveys followed by trenching and diamond drilling. In addition, the company is currently seeking a partner to finance exploration on its 100 per cent owned Bull Lake property which is 5km east of the Folson Lake property. This 16 claim (256 ha) block also covers part of the southern margin of the EBLI and is underlain by the favourable basal portion of the intrusion. A grab sample collected when the property was being staked returned 1.7 g/t palladium, 0.5 g/t platinum, 59.6 g/t silver and 0.2 g/t gold.
