Lazarre:

Initially the institutions do the buying into the big caps... That's why the Dow and S&P stocks usually lead in such rallies... If a rally shows it has legs then the retail investor gets braver and shifts money into equities... The problem with this scenario is that institution selling can be turned on as fast as the buying... That's why we've seen these afternoon selloffs recently... It's no longer investing but a game of musical chairs...
