LG,

Megaphones generally see a price break in the direction of the trend, but not always. When the break occurs in the opposite direction of the trend (as it did today), expect the fulfillment of the target to result in a harsh reversal into the next leg of the trend.

Targets of price breaks from megaphones may be set by measuring the base of the megaphone, and adding it to the breakout point. The base would be measured as the width from the last touch of the opposite side of the megaphone to the subsequent touch of the near side megaphone line from which the break occurs. Don't know of any literature or books on this pattern, but there sure should be, as it is one of the most common patterns out there.

Regards,

David
