I've mentioned my friend who owns the pizza place a couple
of times. His kid drives a Blazer and delivers for him.
A branch broke from a tree and went through his windshield,
luckily he wasn't hurt. I was in my basement and didn't realize
what was going on outside till I heard hail bouncing off my AC.
I went upstairs to take a look. The power cut out without me realizing it while I was upstairs. The last thing on my weekend
list was an over flow vat and I hadn't got to it yet so I had
an 8 gallon flood. If I stayed downstairs or finished the overflow vat I could have avoided the flood. When tanks are attached to a central filter the water level in each tank is an inch or two
above the strainer. When the power cuts they drain down to the
strainer, the extra water overflows the sump that the pump is attached to. By drilling a hole in the top of the sump and putting a line
to an overflow vat floods can be avoided. We hadn't lost power
for a couple of years so I was lazy and paid the price.
