Matsushita says technology doubles capacity of DVD-RAM .c Kyodo News Service Tuesday it has developed a technology to double the memory capacity of a DVD-RAM (digital videodisc random access memory). The technology makes it possible to store 8.5 gigabytes of information on one side of a DVD-RAM -- equivalent to six hours of video images, the Japanese electronics giant said. Matsushita said it plans to conduct a series of durability tests so that it can put commercial products based on the technology on the market within two years.
