Business Wire - September 08, 1998 11:18
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 8, 1998--
Gadi Miller to Use Networking Knowledge and Experience to "Wake Up Europe" to Advantages of Internet Fax
NetXchange Communications, a leading provider of Internet telephony software and infrastructure, has appointed data networking veteran Gadi Miller as its vice president of international sales. Miller will oversee sales efforts for NetXchange's Internet Xchange for Fax (IXF) software, with emphasis on Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Using NetXchange's recently announced PC-based client offerings, Miller aims to expand the number of IXF-based service providers and carriers providing Internet fax services, in his territory.
"My principal goal is to wake up Europe to the advantages of Internet fax," said Miller. "NetXchange's IXF solution is the most cost-effective Internet fax platform available on the market, both to install and to manage. It is exciting to have this opportunity to introduce entrepreneurs, IS managers and service providers to this revolutionary technology."
Before joining NetXchange, Miller managed the Asia-Israeli operation for Nbase Communications. Before that, he worked for Fibronics, which was acquired by ElBit and later by Nbase, where he held positions in research and development, marketing and management. He also worked as an electronic engineer for the Israeli Air Force. Miller holds a bachelor of science in engineering from Technion in Israel.
"Gadi Miller is the ideal person to educate European service providers, network providers and IS managers about the advantages offered by the IXF fax platform and the NetXchange Global Community," said Bibi Rosenbach, president of NetXchange. "With his 14 years experience designing and marketing networking services, he understands the needs of service providers and how they can leverage the features of the IXF platform to best serve their business and technical goals."
Miller joins the company as it announces three major accomplishments. First, NetXchange has released new IXF-based client solutions enabling subscribers to send and receive Internet faxes directly from their PCs. Second, Fellesdata, the largest data services provider in Norway, is adapting the IXF fax platform to enable the mass fax distribution of fax documents at significantly reduced costs over conventional managed fax systems. Third, two Latin American Internet fax networks, PAT Telecom and the RedFax Network, have joined the NetXchange Global Community. These two IP fax networks increase the points-of presence (POPs) available in Central and South America, giving Community members more partnership options for sharing and delivering Internet fax traffic.
INTERNET XCHANGE FOR FAX
NetXchange's Internet Xchange for Fax software solution has a unique Least Cost Routing capability that routes fax traffic over the Internet and telephone network to reduce the cost of sending a fax, allowing service providers to deliver faxes securely, quickly and economically. Service providers can link with other NetXchange partners, creating a powerful Internet fax network with global node-to-node delivery capability.
THE NETXCHANGE GLOBAL COMMUNITY
The NetXchange Global Community consists of ITSPs, alternative carriers and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) working together to provide worldwide IP fax coverage. Participating organizations use NetXchange's Internet Xchange for Fax (IXF) or XchangeWare Gateway which enables them to offer global Internet fax termination to their customers. Each ITSP generates revenue from subscribers sending and receiving IP faxes within the ITSP's network, while providing end-users with fax delivery services worldwide through NetXchange partner networks. Alternative carriers generate revenues by selling PSTN minutes for fax transmission to service providers.
