Let's see now! Your profile says you are 26 and that you are an elevator operator. You allegedly went to Harvard Community College (never heard of it!) Now you claim to be a highly experienced broker employed by a securities firm - at least more experienced than I am as an investor who has been doing it for more years than your age. Immediacy of execution is less important than the price of the execution. Order flow sales commissions have to come from somewhere. Are we to believe that with market maker spreads as low as 1/16th that they share that with you in lieu of tacking 1/16th to the price. When they see the level III screen they know whose bid/ask they are answering and they can adjust the price accordingly (within the bid and ask) or modify the best bid/ask before they execute within the allowed time-frame - which incidentally is not restricted to 1 second. By the way - where are there any buildings left that still use elevator operators?
