no offense intended as I find your posts very interesting. But power struggle in Central Africa? It sounds like a sequel for 'The Mouse That Roared'. I guarantee you that less than one American in 100 even recognizes that France has any influence on Central Africa. And as far as what the US foreign policy community is focused on I would assume Central Africa falls pretty far down the list. Please help me with this, why would Central Africa occupy such an important point in US policy that we would come into conflict with a major ally. I can understand French interest, the vestiges of empire and paranoia about 'Anglo-Saxon' motives. I'll take you for your word that some French sources are speculating about such a conflict but most Americans would laugh at the notion.
